This project began with imagining a new brand concept for an outdated property, and grew into consideration of every touchpoint — naming, visual identity, wallpaper, breeze blocks, artwork, furniture selection, and beyond. Formerly an off-beach budget hotel on a lesser known street, The Laylow was reborn as a charming oasis amidst the touristy buzz of the busy Waikiki neighborhood, drawing inspiration from the island’s midcentury roots. The Laylow is now part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.
